Sydney hit 43 degrees today, which by anyone's standards is darn hot!!!! Unsurprisingly we scrapped our original plan of walking around North Head National Park, even 5 mins walking around South Head was too hot. As suggested by the Sydney Morning Hearld, we will be wearing t-shirts cooled in the fridge before bed tonight in an attempt to cool down enough to sleep!!!!! DW

We like this place very much - Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Silly sausage LZ got a cotton bud stuck in her ear over Xmas and it in typical British stuff upper lip style, had ignored it. A trip to A&E, some good old colonial reciprocal healthcare, and a long pair of tweezers (with a steady hand) solved the problem!!!! DW

The sun is setting through the trees, the heat of the day has dropped off, there's a gentle breeze but it is warm, blanket, cushions and picnic unpacked, some music in the background as we relax, settle in and wait for the outdoor screening of Hitchcock to begin. Looking forward to the end of our first full day in Sydney. It was a relaxed pootle through what seems to be a vibrant, relaxed, fun capital city.
