It's the 11th of may and we survived our first night in jail! I had a really good birthday but missed everyone from home a bit.
We escaped jail this morning and had a walk down to Christchurch city centre and looked around the container mall.
Since the earthquake which hit Christchurch pretty hard a few years ago they have been redeveloping the town. They have built shops inside loads of containers buildings in the town and its really cool and brightly coloured.
We visited the quake city exhibition which explained all about the earthquake and the damage caused. It was interesting and quite sad but the city centre looks like its on its way to getting back to normal.
Tonight we said a final goodbye to Josh and Ashley, who we have been pretty much joined with all holiday (team australessex!) They printed us both a photo of the four of us and got us both necklaces as leaving presents which was so lovely! Gonna miss everyone loads we have met some lovely people here in New Zealand.
Another night in jail tonight then off for Fiji for some warm weather... Can't wait to get back on the beach!
