Started off the day with a trip to some remaining original Viet Cong war tunnels in the Cu Chi area just north of Saigon. Our tour guide fought for the South Vietnamese Army during the war so it was interesting getting his point of vier on the VC and the Americans and how the new government accepted him after the war finished.
We completed a 100 metre section of the tunnels, ate some tapyokaN the staple food of the VC and also watched a video on the VC during the war, basically 20 minutes of anti-American propaganda!
We went back to Saigon for the afternoon and for lunch had our first authentic Pho-Bo, vietnamese beef noodle soup. It was incredible!
In the afternoon we went to see the War Remnants museum in Saigon, which included a lot more anti-US displays and info, particularly the large area devoted to the ongoing effects of the use of Agent orange defoliant in the war.
We then packed our bags and found some food for our packed dinner on the night train that would take us to Nha Trang
