Hello Everyone, we arrived safely in Bangkok, Thailand, and we are now in Ayutthaya, just north of Bangkok. There are some great temple ruins in this area dating back to 12th century. In fact, the picture shown here is at a temple that we saw today - it is the remains (head only) of a buddha statue that has now been overtaken by tree roots. Another interesting experience was returning from dinner back to our guest house in Bangkok and running into a baby elephant along a major street within the city. Drew was dazed, partly because we were returing from a beer festival, but Emi, too was shocked to navigate around the elephant on the side walk in the city at midnight. Sorry we don't have a picture to proove it. It's significantly hotter here than in Japan, but we are getting used to it, and we are continuouly enjoying the food. Bye for now.
