Hello Everyone, we arrived safely in Bangkok, Thailand, and we are now in Ayutthaya, just north of Bangkok. There are some great temple ruins in this area dating back to 12th century. In fact, the picture shown here is at a temple that we saw today - it is the remains (head only) of a buddha statue that has now been overtaken by tree roots. Another interesting experience was returning from dinner back to our guest house in Bangkok and running into a bab...

We arrived in Tokyo last night, Nov. 1st, after starting from Kathmandu in the afternoon of the 31st, flying to Delhi, sleeping in the airport overnight and then flying to Japan via Hong Kong. Nepal was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed nearly every aspect - people, culture, scenery, food, etc. After 27 total days of trekking, it is nice not to be walking or really "going" anywhere. So we should have no problem catching up with friends/family and the website...

Hi all, We are not sure why message board is not posting our message. But we wanted to let you know there will be another ~16 days before we can update the site. We are heading to Everest Base Camp tomorrow AM and we can't upload pics until we return to Kathmandu. Yes, more trekking! And Kevin, we'll answer your questions when we return as well. Hi all, After suffering long journey from Cape Town (nearly 2 days due to our flignt connections), we finally arrived to Kathmandu. We fell in love with this city right away as it filled with beautiful hand crafts shops, temples, stupas, and monastary, wood carving doors and buildings, and Rickshaws, mortorcycles, taxi going thru narrow steets. More surprisingly, streets are pretty clean and exhaust from cars aren't so bad as you would consider this country is...

We arrived in Cape Town, South Africa on Monday September 12. WOW! What a magnificent city and landscape. Think Northern California with less people. We could live here! We are off to wine country tomorrow and then to see the whales - maybe kayak next to them....still have to convince Emi that's a good idea. Enjoy the new photos. Drew & Emi
