Life in Ubud is so amazing. I get up in the morning and meet some friends for breakfast, thinking it is just another day. Then I meet some new people, and the day is suddenly filled with so much fun and great conversations. This is another volcanic island, and they say that whatever is going on with you, will be magnefied and brought up to the surface.
I was in a cafe one morning, soon after I had just arrieved in Ubud. I was feeling lonely and I was questioning my whole reason for being here. I had my journal with me, so I just wrote down what I was feeling. That made me be very clear on what was really going on, and I felt calm and at ease with the situation. Later that day I went to Bali Buddha for dinner, and a guy starts speaking to me. Glenn. A few minutes later Paul shows up, and we had a great dinner together. I go to the internet place the following day, and my younger brother shows up on the facebook chat. I am so happy to connect with him, and he is asking me how I'm really doing. Not just what sights I've seen and so on. A little while later my mother popsup on the gmail chat - and so does my older brother. I'm now connected to my whole family!
I was hanging out with Paul and Glen, and when I moved to a different hotel I met. Peter and Ishara. I was just going for breakfast when they asked me if I wanted to go to the elefant park with them. Yes! Check out the pictures - and a couple in the 'bloopers' album. I still laugh at that. So I spent every day and all day with Peter, and went to Kuta with him for a day. Not recomended.
Peter left, and one day I had lunch with Glen. We start talking to the girl on the next table, and two hours later the three of us is on our way to the Gili Islands. There are three small islands just off the Lombok island, and we stayed in Gili Menu - in Sunset Gecko - great place! Indonesia is muslim, except for Bali which is hindu, so that was interesting too. A couple of times a day you can hear the prayer call from around the islands, and then the music from the party across the water from Gili Trawangan. Here we met some lovely Swedish guys - they are building an eco community there - what a wonderful, ha\ilarious bunch.
Back in Ubud and life continues with endless GREAT conversations (Lena is another Gemini), socializing, eating, massagin and so forth.
And it's time to leave. I have made some very good friends and had a neverending weekend in Ubud.
