Another hassle free train ride from Karlstad to Stockholm, although this time the train was almost of the "red rattler" variety. We left Oslo by train this morning, bound for Karlstad in Sweden. A very relaxing 3 hour journey on a sparsely populated train. Karlstad was much bigger than we has expected. Built where a river enters a lake it was quite pretty, well maintained parklands and 18th century architecture. Tomorrow its another 3 hour train trip to Stockholm

Today we were moving from Malmo to Goteborg. Our first experience of Swedish Rail. And a very pleasant one it was. Clean, efficient, spacious. Our 3 and a bit hour trip seemed to pass in no time at all. Not sure what I was expecting but the countryside was unremarkable. Much like Australia to be honest. Today it was time to catch a train and cross the amazing Oresund Bridge into Sweden. As we left Denmark the train entered a tunnel under the Oresund Strait to emerge sometime later onto the actual bridge which crosses the Strait. 40 minutes later we were in Malmo.
