A breakfast of beef radish soup was not quite the best start, but it was better than the other choice of cod fish stew. Another great cycl8ng day, bright sunsh8ne and no wind. After our warm up exercises and a briefing on what lay ahead, we were on our way. First stop was Cheongpyeong railway station for morning tea. Odd place but plenty of room and most importantly clean toilets. Today we spent some time on former railway tacks. Built by the Japanese they make great cycling paths and we passed through numerous tunnels, adding a bit of difference to the ride as well as providing some relief from the sun. The scenery is constantly changing as we travel beside the rivers, rice paddies, crops of unknown plants, small towns and villages. Our lunch stops are always an opportunity to take in some of the local culture. We finally arrived in our destination of Chuncheon after a gut busting ride up a hill to our hotel. Fortunately the view was worth it. Our evening dinner was at a local restaurant , where we were served dakgalbi, a dish that Chuncheon is famous for. Basically chicken and cabbage cooked in a curry sauce at your table. Doesn't sound much but it was bloody delicious.
