The weather continues to spoil us so this morning we use a train and taxi to get to the Philosphers Path. A beautiful walk beside a stream that winds through traditional housing areas surrounded by gorgeous trees and bushes. So tranquil and quiet. It's about 1.5kms in length and along the way we saw numerous fish and a few cranes searching for food. Another taxi and we were at Nishiki Market. A very long narrow arcade, fully roofed and lined with all manner of shops. We grabbed some "street food" along the way. Very strict rules here that forbid you to eat and walk. So where you buy food, you eat in front of that stall and then move on. A hectic place but we did manage to find some souvenirs that we had been searching for. From there to Kyoto Station to purchase our bullet train tickets to Tokyo. Opted to use the Foreigners Counter rather try our luck on a vending machine. Managed to get 1st Class tickets on the left side of the train, which will give us a view of Mt Fuji, weather permitting. The evenings here are so mild so after dinner we spent a bit of time wandering the narrow lanes of Gion, hoping to spot a geisha. Alas, no luck
