Finally on the islands and loving it. Got here after a fair trek of over night trains, buses, boats and taxis. Our hut is really nice which is great. Hammock, air con, fridge for our drinking water etc etc! The night life here is great fun, best I've experienced ever which is amazing. Met up with a few season friends last night which was great. We've rented mopeds or two days to get round the island. Literally they are so much fun!! Don't worry mum, we are wearing helmets!! Great way to see the island to get around as fuel is so cheap. Today we went right up the north of the island for a good swim, snorkel, see the quieter region, etc. Such a nice island. It's so weird if anything, because it used to be fairly religious, monks thought it was holy as it had such a wildlife both on land and in the waters! Yet at the south it is literally tourist central!
Tomorrow we are thinking of going all the way round the island and seeing everything! And then in the evening it's the full moon party!!! (don't tell mum but I didn't get in till 6.30 last night/morning)
I've just been eating noddles the whole time mum. Just pad Thai, or stir friend chicken, fish, shrimp...real mix to be honest! I'm definitely losing weight I think, because of the heat I'm eating less I think...but still absolutely loving the food.
Budget wise, were trying to stick to 25 pound a day here, Indonesia will be cheaper. Food generally cost around 90 baht which is £1.80. And maybe two meals a day. We are haggling loads though, especially trips, or clothes etc. I definitely need to buy more clothes though, need more shorts I think.
Right, we are just about to eat our meal, I'm having fish fried rice!! Getting to like fish (as long as it's cooked nicely)
Hope everything is well. Send me and email if you want to anything else mumsie!!! Thanks for sorting my uni accommodation dad.
