So we've just spent four nights Bali. We arrived there on the 23rd after travelling across Java.
First things first, when we arrived into the western port of Bali, Gilimanuk, there must have been hundreds of Indonesian women of all ages who smiled, blew kisses, laughed at us, jokingly slapped our arms as well as asking if we could kiss their friends! Unfortunately, probably due to Matt's looks rather than mine and Tim's, we seemed to attract more of the older ones without a full set of teeth!
Our first night was in an area called seminyak which was quietish and Matt and I decided that we should treat our selves to a nice accommodation for a treat (mainly because we couldn't be arsed to find something cheaper). Seminyak was a nice area and we tried our first bit of surfing there. It was a good laugh but the waves closed in really quick so there wasn't much wave to ride.
On the 25th we moved down to Kuta where there was a bit more of a nightlife. We went out on our first night and I instantly start to hate the thick Australian accent of the thousands of Perth-ians here on holiday! More surfing which was fun but still crowded and waves very short and hard to practice on. We ended up meeting Jack who was a good mate of mine in Val Thorens and then a friend of Matts. It was nice to see him and he's been out here surfing for 2 months so gave us some tips.
Today we've decided to crack on to Lombok and see what happens there! Not a clue where we're staying or what we're doing. Will see what happens!
