(17 November)

Today was Oli's birthday! He came and woke is earlyish and the 3 of us and Sophie went to Long Beach which was about an hour walk on the other side of the island! We saw Silvio and Hollie on the way, they were still drunk from the night before haha, and they said they would come and meet us, but were leaving to go to Ko Lanta in the afternoon.

We wandered down to the pier, stopping at some bakeries for breakfast (yum!) and renting a snorkel on the way, then trekked round the island, through a bit of jungle to get to Long Beach, which was meant to be much nicer than the other one. It was really nice, but a little crowded, there had been a really pretty more secluded one on the way which I would go back to! This was clearly the side of Phi Phi you can see if you are spending a bit more money and staying in nice bungalows by the beach! It was really really hot, spent a lot of time in the water because the heat was a bit too much! Hollie and Silvio turned up not long after us. Oli went snorkelling and saw loads of cool things, like lots of sharks! The other two went out when he got back. Apart from the fear of fish thing, it was a very long swim to the reef and I didn't even think I was a strong enough swimmer to make it, so I gave snorkelling a miss! When Silvio and Hollie left to catch their boat, Kristin and I headed back because it was far too hot, and Oli and Sophie went back out snorkelling.

We chilled out at the room for a bit then went up to View Point to see the sunset. It was a serious trek, way up a massive hill, the view was worth it though! Got some seriously sweaty pictures at the top haha, but it was beautiful!

Afterwards we went for dinner to Papaya, the really nice place! The food was really yummy and cheap! I shared another green curry with Kristin, I love that stuff! We planned to go and have a few drinks at Flower Bungalows then head out, but ended up just bringing more drinks back to the hostel and drinking there all night! It was really good.
