THE NETHERLANDS - DAY 2
We had a leisurely sleep in and a wonderful breakfast consisting of hot chocolate with whipped cream, eggs and bacon, waffles, pancakes plus the regular things like cereal, toast, etc. After we gorged ourselves we headed off towards the train station for our destination Madurodam in the city of Den Haag (The Hague).
Madurodam is a miniature tourist attaction showing Holland's famous buildings, lifestyle, culture etc. There were interactive spots for the girls and information about various famous buildings and people from Holland. The girls had a fabulous time trying to put out a fire on a boat, pumping a lever to create power, plugging the holes in the dike to name a few.
We wandered around watching miniature trains, boats and cars travel from one side of Holland to the other. The girls even got to watch the miniature clog factory make them some clogs to keep and had them delivered in a truck.
We all had a great time and now feel that even thought we might not get to see all the buildings in real life, we at least got to see them in miniature.
