ITALY - DAY 22
Today we headed by car to Telese, the home town of Pasqual's dad. It was only 120 kilometres away but it took us two and a half hours to get there due to the narrow, windy roads.
We meet Pasqual's distant cousins who showed us through his great grandparents house before taking us through the town to see the sights.
They have sulphur springs which people swim in, drink etc as they believe that sulphur is suppose to be extremely good for your skin and insides. We were all given a glass of sulphur water and if you held your nose you could drink it quiet easily. I wouldn't want to drink it all the time but it tasted a little like fizzy water.
After that we were taken to Enzo's sister's place for lunch. Boy of boy, five courses later and we were done. Take about full. We sat trying to communicate with people who spoke no english and managed just to have our messages understood. Thank goodness for Christian (Enzo's son) and Maria-Pia (his niece). Without their translation we would have been lost. If they slowed down and spoke slowly, Pasqual could get the gist of what they were trying to say.
Later in the afternoon, we went on a drive to a large garden and walked around the lake. We saw some large water rats in the lake and had to dodge the sprinkler system but it was nice. We meet back up with Christian and made plans to meet them in Naples on Thursday.
It was late by the time we drove back to the villa and we all climbed into bed exhausted.
