FRANCE - DAY 1
It was just as well we packed several items of warm clothing as we woke to a 1 degree Spring morning. After a hearty breakfast we hit the Metro and headed to central Paris to collect our Paris Pass from the Hard Rock Cafe.
Now instead of catching the local transport to The Lourve (our first port of call) we decided it would be fun to walk there. After all it was only several blocks away. Oops! Three hours and several small monuments later we finally arrived to a huge line of 'Lourve Lovers' waiting to gain entry. Due to our forward thinking, we had purchased our Paris Pass back in Australia allowing us to skip the long line and enter into the warm heart of The Lourve.
Oh WOW! The wonders that were there before us. The Mona Lisa, The Venus de Milo, the plethora of paintings and the amazing artefacts (some which date back thousands of years) not to mention the simple beauty of the internal architecture. All of these combined to make an exhausting but entertaining and enlightening afternoon.
