Left Arequipa at 7.30am heading for Puerto Inca. Lost again. Arrived in Mollendo at 11am no connecting road to Camana. Have to turn around wasted at least 3 hours. Arrived at 9pm set up camp and had tea after 10.30pm. We are camped on a surf beach, no lifeguards, there is a swimming pool but only motel guests can use. The locals sat up all night drinking, laughing and playing their boom boxes. Noise stopped at 6am.
6th April Good Friday
Up at 5am too much noise. The waves are magnificent and the scenery is lovely. Had breakfast and went for a walk to the pre inca ruins. There were vultures swarming around. These ruins were from a fishing village where they would dry the fish and then transport to Cusco by foot. There were tombs, terraces and underground houses. We walked over the rocky hills and over the top to explore the coves. The steep cliffs and the turquois ocean swell were a sight to see. Had a relaxing day lying on the beach and swimming in the freezing ocean. The locals stayed up all night again, so limited sleep.
