Today we were up early and headed off to the Panda Conservation Centre. The parks has over 80 Pandas. We also saw Red Pandas, peacocks and Koi fish in various ponds around the centre. The park is set up to resemble the mountain and forest regions in north Sichuan, the original home of the Giant Panda, with extensive bamboo trees and large green spaces. This morning we departed Mt Emei for a two hour journey to Chengdu. Our first stop in Chengdu was the Wuhou Shrine and museum. It was first built in memory of Zhuge Liang (181 - 234), the prime minister of Shu ( 221 - 263 ) of the Three Kingdoms ( 220 - 280). Zhuge Liang was a famous statesman, military strategist. He was also given the title of Marquis Wuxiang in his lifetime. "Wuhou" literally means "Wuxiang Marquis". This is the largest museum in China...
