We are currently sat in an internet cafe on a small island called Peurto Galera in The Philippines.
Our last day in Hong Kong was a realxing one, we went to Repluse Bay beach which was lovely and chilled all day was about 32degrees!
The next morning we were up at 6am and left shortly after (bye bye Thomas & Amy) and we then got the metro to the airport.
The flight took around 1hr 45, and on the flight the air hostesses played games with the passengers, they asked everyone to hold up the object that they called out and you could win prizes!!! very random.
Once we arrived and got through immigration we got a taxi to take us to our "Lonely Planet " recommended hotel (never again).
We pulled up outside the hotel and ....emmm ....well, we wanted it to drive away again!!!
We went into the hotel and was greeted by a smiley receptionist and a massive American guy, who (within 30seconds) was telling us that he was a UFC fighter and kept looking at his guns (aka arms)
We checked into the "Deluxe" room for 1,000P(around £11) we were glad we didn't go for the standard!! it wasn't very "deluxe"full.... or very clean (well, the walls were a dirty....and there wasnt really a window....) but we knew this would be a one nighter.
We went for a walk around and we were instantly being followed and asked whether we wanted to either change money, sleep with someones wife (yes, this is true, a guy pulled out a photograph of a woman and said 'would you like to sleep with my wife'.....)or buy weed!!!
Dom chose none of the above (honest) but managed to find out which bus and ferry we needed to get outta there....we also met a Norwegian guy who had just landed in Manila and he was booking his flight to leave that night....Bit dramatic we thought!!!
Next day we got the bus to the port and while we were waiting met an Irish guy called Mick and a Londoner called Andy.
Peurta Guelera is the complete opposite to Manila - the people were so friendly and everything is so cheap. We sat in the bar on beach for a about 3-4hrs chatting to Mike and drinking the old San Migual (which cost around 50p a bottle and thats at a more expenise bar !)
Eventually we went to look for somewhere to stay and we chose a place called Belle vue, as the owner sat in the bar ALL afternoon waiting for us to finish our drinks so she could show us her huts....!!
Well , these huts are amazing ! they are quite high up so the view is perfect and only cost around 8pounds a night including a full fry up breakfast!!!
Bargain!
On the evening we planned to meet with Mick for dinner and drinks, but we all just fell asleep and woke up the next day!!! Feeling even more tired !
First day in Puerto Galera we thought we'd go to the beach, so we got a boat to White Beach which took around 45mins.
The beach was amazing apart from the hawkers trying to sell you stuff....however alot of them are so friendly they just come and sit and chat for a bit.
After a day of lounging we decide to get a Tricycle back to Sabang where we were staying. These are motorbikes with side carts attached.
Me & Beth were in the side cart and Mick was on the back of the bike.
The nightlife is OK, they have regular powercuts so the whole area becomes pitch black for about two or three minutes at a time, which is quite eerie...
Today we rented out scooters (sorry mum's) and drove around the island looking for the waterfalls... they are not very well signposted.
We gave up on one as half way there we had to turn back as there had been a land slide so the road was blocked.
We went to find the other one and again was hard to find, but the friendly locals soon pointed us in the right direction.
Eventually a little lady offered to take us to them (well, offered her sons assistance) she told us to wait outside a house. 2mins later her son came out not looking too happy!
He lead us up so far, but the hills were too steep so we didn't go right to the top but had a swim and it was so refreshing.
After that we went to the beach again and then to here to update you all and let you know we're safe....Thanks for all the msgs and missing you all
