We were picked up at 5.15am and taken to Voyager balloon headquarters where they gave us drinks and something to eat before heading to the launching places. Today is our earliest start as we have 700km to travel to Cappadocia where we are staying in a cave hotel. Luckily we stopped every two hours for a break. We travelled along The Silk Road where people had travelled to sell their goods in the past. Caravanserai were inns set up approximately every 40 km so that the traders could spend a night, rest their animals eat before setting off again. Our tour today is to the petrified white lime cascades above Pamukkale. Again we enjoy a leisurely pace and see the whole site as other groups race past us. The ruins include Heirapolis and the largest necropolis amongst the landmarks. We can paddle in the thermal pools but there are so many tourists here you have to be careful not to slip on the slippery limestone as you navigate around them. It seems as though the numbers of visitors would be damaging the pool...
