What a full day. Running between Disneyland and California Adventure Park (CAP).
We started at CAP, rode Toy Story Midway Mania, very similar to the Buzz Lightyear concept at Disneyland, where you shoot at targets while riding through various screens. Next was California Screaming, a particular favorite, mega fast roller-coaster , been on twice with a ticket still to ride this evening... Now in line for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. We've been on this before as well, basically a freaky elevator with a mind of it's own, most enjoyable, Grizzly River Run, is a tyre down a swollen river, for once I wasn't the one to get saturated, have learnt my lesson previously and brought a waterproof jacket. I know what you are all thinking, but even though the sky is blue and the sun is out, the temperature is around 13C and there is a cool breeze, yes, there are moments the hoodies come off but as soon as you hit the shade.....
There are many other rides here but I'm with a 21yo who won't do his uncle the favor of posing with Mickey Mouse, god forbid we go on uncool rides. I did get him to join me on a 3D "it's tough to be a bug". There are some real surprises.
We went over to Disneyland in between. Space Mountain, a hit, Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain, alas Splash Mountain, where I learned the hard way, in winter, to be prepared, was closed for renovations. Instead we went to the Haunted House. I'll take this time to let you know that waiting times for some of these rides was an hour, to 'fast trac' would have us wandering for 4 hours but we would get on at the allotted time. As luck would have it just as we turned up to "Indiana Jones Adventure" and joined the 45 minute queue, we were given 2 fast trac tickets by a family that had 2 extra, talk about 'wishes do come true' at Disneyland!
Our last ride was Mickey's Fun Wheel, ferris wheel with cabins that run free, so you swing at 90 degrees to vertical at the top of this mega wheel.
Now sitting at CAP, in maybe 10C, waiting for World of Color show to start. Was told it the one to see, will be able to catch Disneyland fireworks above us as we head back up hotel......
