Ello ol chaps!
I will say that I am too cheap to pay for Internet. This is why you have not yet heard from me!
OI apologize in advance for my excessive use of exclamation marks. After spending three full days in London, I have probably exhausted the word 'WOW'!
My second apology - there probably won't be all that many pictures in this blog! No computer = unable to upload photos.
I arrived in London at about 1 pm London time (7 hours ahead of Alberta). On the plane I met a Brazilian doctor, Julene, who gave me some great pointers, helped me through Heathrow Terminal 5 (did you know there are like 11 miles of baggage runway in that terminal alone?!), and helped me get my Oyster card, pointing me in the right direction for the tube. She was my angel! I got to my hostel and couldn't believe that is was only 100 meters from St. Paul's Cathedral! I stumbled into the Evensong service (one of the only times you can get in free- ha!) and admired the intricacies of it while I listened to the choir sing. Ahhh. I then walked to London bridge, and that was lovely too!
Day 2 (17th): I got up early to get a good start on the day but my padlock decided to stick shut. After fighting with it for about 1/2 hour, I got a hostel staff guy to cut it off. Sad minute (it was purple). I bought a cheap one instead. And because it was raining, I brought a touristy umbrella that said I
