Tuesday
The flight from Oslo to NY went well. I sat between a woman from The dominican Republic and a girl from Colombia! The colombian girl told me loads of nice things about her country, and I had never been closer to realizing that I was finally heading towards Latin America again!!!
We had a marathon transfer at Newark airport, which I didnt enjoy at all!
We arrived safe in Bogota, found the hostel and went to sleep...
Wednesday
Im sleeping in a hole in my bed. Not very comfy and its very cold here...my lungs havent ajusted to the hight here and I felt nauseus all day. We strolled the streets here at Calenderia (old town). Afterwards we adventured the walk towards the northern districs which tokk us ages. I was starving by the time we arrived at Zona Rosa. Here we went for a pleasant meal!
Thursday
Met the owner at our hostel and he gave us some good advice about bus journeys in theis country! So we have decided to leave for Santa Marta toworrow afternoon. Overnight busses are supposed to be safe...
Afterwards we went to take the cable car up to Cerro de Monserrate. This is the highest peak Ive ever been on, 3150 meters and I felt like Ole Einar Bjoerndalen training in low oxygene air...The view here was stunning and we were so lucky with the weather! I have my sunglasses, my umbrella, my t-shirt, my woolen sweather, my jacket, cause the weather changes constantly...We stayed at the peak for the whole day, enjoying the sun...
So far I love Colombia. Its traquil, pleasant, clean, I feel safe and it still have this rought and chaotic atmosphere that i love about Latin America...
The men does not hiss at you in the street, I see horse carriages, shoe shiners, children in catholic school uniforms, old busses that pollutes loads, shopes that are packed with 10.000 different items, women shouting aaaaggguuuaaa freeeessscccoo....
