Back to our old hotel in Tokyo and we went out for a sushi train restaurant, good and quite cheap. Sunday our last full day we took the train to Tokyo station then to the "sightseeing" bus which really was just a bus trip around many shopping areas, other than palaces and temples there is very little heritage in Toyko. We visited an area called Yanaka where there is still some original housing among many temples and shrines. We then took a long train trip to the end of the JR local line at Kurihama where we believed there is a big Buddha, however we later realized we had gone 6 extra stations and should have got out at Kurakama! We caught a slightly different route home and travelled on one of the new two storey carriages similar to ours except these are first class - eventually we had to move as we weren't first class! Normal carriages are not so good for viewing as you site side on. Last evening we went to dinner with a friend Vivianne whom we met on our 2006 Vietnam trip, she is married to a Japanese and has lived and worked here for 9 years.
Monday, last day, we are packing up ready for home after 7 months on the go, as we have a late check out we'll have lunch out and go to the 45th floor of the government offices located opposite. We have our shuttle bus booked to the airport about 60 km away and will take about 2 hours.
