11th - 12th June
Today we start our journey back to Thailand (Bangkok) Dannas & Meesh wisely booked a flight whereas Cheryl and I to save on cash booked the bus ride! Five of us were rammed into a taxi for 4 hours along the worst road you could imagine… we were bumping up and down all over the place. The whole ride was along a wet, muddy, holey dirt track so just had to keep reminding ourselves of the money we were saving!! Once we passed the Cambodian border into Thailand and changed onto a mini bus the journey was a lot more bearable.
Eventually arrived in Bangkok and checked into a pretty posh hotel (De 'Moc). Tonight is the last night the four of us will spend together so what better place to go and party than Khaosan Road. We had a wicked night and partied til almost 6am. We began the night at one of the outside street bars and were back on the famous buckets of vodka then onto nightclub 'The Club', here is where we all got our cool new look from (check out the facebook pics, he he!) Once everything was closing we went onto a late night stop 'Gazebo'. We certainly made our last night together a good one. I felt for the girls the next day though as they'd only had one hour sleep before leaving to get their flight, ouch!!
Last day in Bangkok and went shopping along Khaosan Road. Not a good place for recovering shopaholics such as myself and I tried hard not to spend but still managed somehow to buy lots more things! Cheryl spent the day in bed with a monster hangover which was probably a good thing as otherwise I'm sure that I would've bought a lot more!
I spoke to my Sister, Nephews Mum & Dad today for the first time since leaving home, with the exception of text and e-mails. It was so good speaking to them all and had to call to congratulate Connor on passing his trials and getting into Eastleigh Footie Team, I'm so proud of my little monkey :o)
This evening was another over-night train journey to Koh Tao. I wasn't looking forward to this but the train didn't seem quite so bad this time. Either it was cleaner than the previous times or by now we're just getting use to slumming it in groggy places!
