Day 2 - 3rd May
First place to visit today was the Grand Palace, only 10min walk from our hotel. Unfortunately, though when we got there it was closed so got on a Tuk Tuk 'big mistake' as they're a complete rip off! Rather than take you to where you want to go they talk you into going to fashion houses and jewelley shops so that you can buy and they get vouchers of some sort for taking you there. As weel as soon catching onto this we also realised that with tuk tuk's and taxi's you give them a price before getting in... you get into bartering with them but if you walk away and say no they soon chase you up the road and accept your price.
Places we visited today were, Wat Praya Young Temple where we got talking to one guy who was meditating there and offered us a massage for 'free' said he had just qualified and would do it for nothing for 'experience' - soon walked away from that one! I don't have any photos of this temple as it was forbidden. We then went onto the fashion house (tuk tuk decision!) but didn't but anything so he wasn't too pleased with us, hehe!. We then went to the Wat Benchamabophit Temple where we got talking to a couple of Buddha's. It was beautiful here and so peaceful. Our next visit was to 'TAT' which is a tourist information centre. Here we booked a couple of tours which you will read all about very soon! To finish the day off nicely we went to the MBK shopping centre, this place was huge so I was in my element. After shopping we had lunch and returned to our hotel to get ready and hit the clubs along Kaosam Road. Started the night off with a couple of vodkas and went to a club called 'The Club' which played house music (more my cup of tea) then onto another playing R&B (rap and bullsh!t) I once recall it being referred too, haha! Sorry Cheryl! We have found that we are constantly approached on the street and asked if we want to see a 'Ping Pong' show, ummm! I think not. Had a wicked night met some intertesting characters but again not too much of a late one as we were still shattered.
