Heading north east to Richmond we were surprised to discover we were entering the catchment for the Lake Eyre Basin. Not that we could see any water; which would explain why Lake Eyre (in South Australia) fills so infrequently. The lake that suddenly appeared as we drove into Richmond also surprised us, as did the water park on it's shore. We visited Kronosaurus Korner and were able to see some of the fossils that have been found in the 'Dinosaur Triangle' formed byWinton, Hughenden and Richmond. We each received a 'remote' style tour guide. To operate it, you enter the number of the display and hold it to your ear to listen to the guide. After Kronosaurus Korner we went back to the Lakeside Caravan Park.Misty and Declan rode their bikes along the bike track to the water play park and that night we cooked our bbq beside the lake.
