Finally back in Skopje I had planned on visiting museums on my return but it was now after 5pm having lost most of the day in Tetovo. I wanted to visit the modern side south of the river after the Turkish old town on the north

I passed by the theatre and next door was a museum. I went in and entrance was 300Mk ($6) for the Independence Museum. Then they said I can only visit with an English tour guide so I said I didn't have time for that. I hadn't eaten since breakfast so wanted food too

I came across the Stone Bridge taking pics into Macedonia Square which is on the other side. It was filled with statues and a giant water fountain. There were Greek soldiers and other historic figures.

I wanted to visit the Mother Theresa Museum. It seemed a bit Gaudi looking from the outside and seemed like a house on stilts. Inside it wasn't her home just a collection of photos and personal writings from her life.

There were some pictures from her youth and family which I'd never seen before. Next door is a new Orthodox Church under construction. I still hadnt seen many orthodox churches in Macedonia

Then I made my way back to Macedonia Square passing by more monuments. This side of the river was very European unlike the north side which was very Turkish in the old town.

I found a donar kebab place for 100Mk ($2) then made my way back to the hotel. I'd really enjoyed my time in Macedonia and like Kosovo I should have planned to stay longer to see more
