Adventures of a Global Wanderer
Our classic car tour had ended by Hotel Nacionale a grand art deco style hotel. There is a small private bar and museum you can enter for $5P and receive a complimentary drink.
At first I thought I didnt want to pay to sit in a bar but went along with the group. It turned out to be interesting with all the displays of famous guests.
They had a mix of heads of state, hollywood celebrities, and other notable people.
The displays were a timeline of each decade for all the distinguished guests that had visited.
After we had to walk back to our restaurant in the old town. We decided against taking cabs not realizing it was a 2-3km walk back.
It was quite an upscale restaurant with its walls adorned with framed posters and photos. PM Pierre Trudeau seemed to be a favourite and was pictured again after Hotel Nacionale.
For my last night I ordered a grilled lamb for $15P. We then said our last goodbyes as I would be leaving the main tour tomorrow and returning to Toronto while others had later flights or opted for extra days.
I made my way back to my Casa. This street was a lot noisier trying to sleep with music, talking, and singing from the nearby streets. Also there was no water in the room so I had to wake up the owner and get him to switch the water mains on to my room!
