So we arrived across the river from Thailand and had to stay in Hoi Xai as no buses were leaving until the following day. Not the nicest place in the world but no buses were leaving that night and the room was nice to chill in.
Up early for the first day of our 2 day boat journey to Luangprabang! This was not a comfortable ride as they had crammed us in like sardines on this rickety wooden boat! Anyway had big box of vino with us and played ring of fire which made the journey go much quicker! Felt quite ill by the time we arrived in Pak beng so went and got something to eat and then headed straight to bed!
Next day another 9 hours on a wooden plank!! This went much slower! The views were amazing though and Luang Prabang was well worth it! Arrived and it had a french feel to it! Was very stunning place. Went to see the waterfall too which was amazing!! Got to jump off one waterfall too which was also awesome!! Then went to temple where they have a buddha for every day of the week. That evening went to the night market and then to a bar called 'Hive' before heading to the bowling alley as this is the only place in Luang prabang that stays open past 11 o clock!!!
Next day up early and headed to Vang Viene. Scenery on the way was stunning, laos is such a beautiful country! Arrived and got settled in to Moutain view guesthouse which had a stunning view of the mountins (funily enough!!) and the river where tubing was to occur the next day!! Tubing was amazing. It basically involves floating down a river on a rubber ring and stopping off at zip wires, and bars that have rope swings! Was amazing - one bar had a volleyball court too so got to play a bit of that too! On my second rope swing jump I fell flat on my face! I was and still am in so much pain. Think I have given myself whiplash!!! Managed to drag myself back onto another one though and it was so much fun!! Left the last bar a little late though which meant that we were floating down the river in the pitch black with no idea where we had to get out!! Finally managed to get out as some children came into the river and showed us the way out and then took a wrong turning on the way home and so had to walk through the middle of town in my bikini!! So embarassing!!!
Anyway next day we were up early and headed out on a bus to Vientienne, where we had to catch our flight to Vietnam, see u in Nam! xxx
