Yesterday we climbed Table Mountain, which was quite enjoyable except for the heat, the aching legs, dehydration, etc anyway that to one side we started by waking up at stupid a clock, which was then followed by denises original sausage and mayo sandwich.
Following that was a potencially long and tiring walk from the hostel all the way up to the start point of the mountain route. Luckily with my negociating skills i managed to get a taxi to take us for 30 Rand just under 3 euros. Result.
So from there we started the climb which took me just over 2 Hours and Denise just over 3, on the way up we met a nice german couple and then proceded to say Houzit? To every passer-by.
Finally at top, the view was fantastic and being it was such a clear day we could see for miles. After some much needed refueling and a photo session, we started our descent. It took just under 2 hours with a few breaks in-between, and some more photos of a local halfway up the mountain with his xylophone :) which could be heard all around the mountain.
Once we reached the bottom, legs dying by this point, we bumped into an absailer just on the way to his car, so kindly we jumped in and got a lift 10 mins from our hostel. Great day with a massive sense of achievement.
Back at the hostel bar we enjoyed xmas celebrations with the locals, which was a nice way to end an exhausting day with a few beers and laughs. Great experience.
