After Wilderness we drove to knysna which is actually pronounced naisna haha took us ages to realiye that.
Knysna was again completelly diferent to Cape Town and also to wilderness it was a little town with a lake close by, our hostel looked like an old type home youd see in an american movie, it was nice very chilled.
We found some of our Bazbus friends in the hostel and got to know them better, one is an accounted in australia so that was great for josh. The other is in the army and was just telling us about that. Honestly it was a bit disturbing having to share a room with someone who knows how to use a gun and whose actually had near death experiences and has killed others to survive. First day we arrived we didnt see much of knysna just the main shopping area and central town.
That night was the first time we went out and it was nice, we made friends and learned a bit of the drunken south african culture ( yeah we know its not really what you would consider culture)
Next day we met with Tina and Diete and that was great, we went to their guesthouse which is beautiful, they told us about their life in south africa the way the law and economy and politics seem to work out there, the kind of lifestyle people have. It was extreemly interesting, they were very nice and took us for a driving tour round knysna to see the 2 heads which are the mountains on either side of were the lake goes through to head out to the sea, its a slim stretch and between those 'heads' are the most dangerous waters that no insurance company will cover any boat that travels through there, yet as humans always do what they shouldnt there are many people that risk it and even Diete has.
It was a great day, we saw and learned alot about knysna, south africa and the lifestyle.
