Hello people, houzit? glad your all good, right moving on, today well yesterday (not sure what date the blog says) we caught the train to Simon's Town, basically a little town towards the south of Cape Town, where there just happens to be PENGUINS muahahahaaaa well not exactly in Simon's Town that's just where the train stops. From the station we walked and walked and walked and walked and...just kidding it took about 15 minutes in all, until we arrived at Boulder's Beach. It's a little beach that is made famous by the African Penguin, which had nearly disappeared from this part of the world, until some genius decided to put male and female together (by using the word together, i mean "together together" as in like contributing to global warming and producing more penguins). You get the point. Anyway that was back in 1982, now the colony is at around the 3000 mark meaning there's loads of the little black and white birdies lying around this little beach. The name Boulder's comes from the 540 million year old granite rocks that are situated all around the beach area and along that little stretch of coastline. You'll hopefully see in pictures how superb they really are. So moving on from the history lesson, we spent the day there, paddled in the sea (freezing cold), climbed the boulder's, watched penguins waddle past us and fed Egyptian geese (they just patrol the edge of the beach for food). Afterwards we caught the train back and were in Cape Town in just over an hour. Really great day out. Saw another beautiful part of the country and watching penguins was completely awesome. Note to self: in next life come back as a penguin.
Hope your all good, enjoy and miss you.
