After knysna we went to pletternberg bay to our favourite hostel yet. First time we went camping and it wasnt too bad :)
The hostel was lovelly and we met alot of amazing people, we met one girl who was working in penguin rehabilitation center and she actually had a penguin tattoo named JOSH :) she was telling us about how she cared for the penguins and helped them get better and it was very interesting, we also met a norweigen couple, and the girlfriend is a preschool teacher in norway and she was telling us how hard it is especially in relation to religions, because at christmas time she couldnt just start talking about jesus and god, she would also have to talk about the judisim tradition and take into consideration of any muslims, shed often have problems with parents because of certain subjects or meals. It is wierd to think that a norweigen preschool teacher has to watch what she says to her kids in class or learn about all religions so she can rectify it for every child.
Also the people living in plettenberg had interesting jobs, some were pilots for skydiving, other did kayaking at sea, out so far you could swim with seals, and ofcours there were those giving surf lessons.
Plettenberg was nice, it was close to the beach and also had a proper town so it was a bit of a mix, like javea in a way.
One thing i (denise) loved about this hostel was that all the staff were really happy with their jobs and even the cleaning ladies were always laughing and smiling and having a good time, most of the day they would be singing to themselves and just have a good time, which made the hole hostel have a great feel. :)
After only seeing so little of south africa we realise that its not a dangerous, poor country. Yes its third world but people that try and dont give up have a life, they have certain oportunities and that is not how we initially pictured it, atleast i didnt ( denise ).
