After breakfast, I went to Budget to get a car for the day. A nice Mazda, plenty big enough for our little group of four of us then driving towards Grand Canyon National Park. Arriving 03:30 in the morning on a deserted and chillly platform at Flagstaff Amtrak station meant I just got here with a 6,5 hour delay. Quick update, limited wifi time on the Amtrak train.. Delayed for probably at least 3-4 hours due to engine problems. Started this train trip sunday 3 pm in Penn Staion New York and now ((tuesday 8pm) stranded near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The train hasn't moved for a while and best we know is that two out of three engines stopped working and the third one now has problems pulling all these cars on its own. The day started yesterday with a sunny morning and an inviting Allen street so I dressed and left the apartment to do some groceries for my trip and get a coffee at Starbucks. Followed by a Skype call that did not bring a lot of good news; my dad was hospitalised again today and they found more in his spine. New treatment directly tomorrow.
