Hallo allemaal, hello everybody! Het heeft even geduurd, maar ik ga wat tekst inhalen. I will pdate because I haven't really at all, so here it goes:
Montreal. Arrived slightly delayed because of a sick passenger ( 2 hrs), the flight was smoorh and not much happened, unless you count that guy in that was wearing nothing but a Real Madrid outfit (shorts and shirt) and sunglasses... but got the hostel quite fast by bus. Nice place and pretty much crashed to bed straight away. Jetlagged, so to town very early next morning. To Montreal Notre Dame Basilica church, somebody played the organ so I was wide awake after that.. Walked around in the 18 miles of connected underground plaza's, shops and foodcourts they have built under the city. To museum of archeology and history Point á Callière of Montreal. Fell asleep 6pm at the hostel and woke up 6am. Breakfast and walking with new friend from HongKong to Mount Royal (hence Montreal), from where there is a beautiful view over Montreal (see also pics in album). And can see as far as the US, New York state. Lunch in Chinatown. Coffee and exhibition on manga cartoons from Japan. Few beers in hostel, hockey on tv NY Islanders vs Montreal Canadiens. Oh yeah, everybody speaks French in Montreal.
Booked Megabus to Toronto for the morning. Friday morning arrived in Toronto, to town. English speking city! Haircut on Queen's street and on to CN tower. In 58 seconds (22km/hour) 360 meters up, great view over Toronto. Starts to snow. Guided tour at Steam Whistle beer brewery. Very cool. And then on to an American basketball game Toronto Raptors vs Boston Celtics, from start to finish entertainment with fireworks, chealeader, shows during time outs, half time dog shows, music, lights, singers, beers and hotdogs for everybody, free pizza by the sponsors, crazy stufffffff. Raptors win 86-74. Go Toronto! Oh yeah a medium beer here in the Air Canada Stadium is $ 10,75. And they say Finland is expensive.. Think again. Lots of snow walking back to the hostel at night. And then the phonecall: my sister had her second son, so congrats to Suus and Richard! Very cute guy, won't see him live for another 11 weeks, but luckily there is Skype!
In the morning bus to Niagara Falls, lots and lots of snow on the way, Ontario snows under.. Walked to the falls with 2 German (sorry..) and 1 Swedish guy through the snow, nice hike along the river. And then suddenly you see it: the majestic falls in all it's glory. Just beautiful! Unfortunately a complete entertainment center is built next to it with fear houses, MacDonalds, Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe, loud shows, screaming people etc. Luckily nothing beats the beauty of the falls itself. End of the afternoon bus onwards to Buffalo, USA!
