After leaving Phillip Island we ended up taking a look at Wilsons Promontory, a side track well worth the detour. Some beautiful beaches and incredible scenery, however it was the weekend and it seemed everyone from Melbourne had escaped the city. Not a spare camp site to be seen.
Next stop Lakes Entrance, we found Deefa26 a home for a couple of days and checked out the sights. We did a little bit of fishing off the beach, where Lee lost a decent Aussie Salmon, followed by a quick session at the entrance of the lake, "No fish here!" was Lee's defeated call.
With mixed emotions, NSW was calling us. It would be good to get back to our home state but on the flip side it meant our journey was truly nearing the end. Next brief stop was Mallacoota, we had lunch, a quick look around then stocked up on supplies as we'd planned a few days camp in Ben Boyd National Park.
