After spending a night at Lake Arragan in the Yuragir National Park on Thursday night, we drove down the next morning to Brooms Head to have a poke around. Fantastic spot, with a caravan park right on the beach... we had to push on though, did a massive 45 minute drive to Yamba.
Drove in to town and had some lunch, and another poke around (we're getting good at that). Next stop was an unannounced visit to Molly and Deb's, luckily they were home. It turned out to be Molly's birthday, and also the maiden game for Layne and Libby's U12's rugby union team - what a day to visit!
Went and watched the girls play, they had a great game, at one stage Layne had 3 boys hanging off her as she went charging for the try line. Victory was unfortunately not theirs, end result was 26-16 or thereabouts, but it was a hard-fought match.
Headed back to Molly and Deb's for a BBQ and a few birthday beers, before retiring to Deefa26 for the night - we had a waterfront campsite, right on their front lawn!
Another BBQ for brekky, and then said goodbye to the girls who were off to netball, and Molly and Jed who were off to chase mackerel. Packed up the camper and hit the road for Byron, at this rate we'll take 5 years to get around Oz...
Hope you're all well!
