Melbourne

Left Port Douglas At about 8am and drove to Cairns airport. Got on the plane and arrived in Melbourne at around 4pm and checked into our hotel. We were staying at an airport hotel cause it was only for one night. We walked down the road to a local pub and had dinner there, which was ok but realised that there was not a lot around us. Knowing we were going to have the whole of the next day and evening without a room we decided to hire a car. The next day we got up, caught the shuttle bus to the airport and hired a car for the day. Emma text us to meet her in a place called St Kilda, which is at the beach. Drove there, the weather wasn't great, but had a look round and a coffee while we waited for her. Met up with her and her sister, Sarah about 2pm. We went to the beach front where we sat, drank, ate and listened to a band for a few hours, was a really nice afternoon. Took Emma and Sarah home then left to go to our hotel, pick our luggage up and go to the airport. Our flight wasn't until 3.35am but we had nothing to do really so ended up being at the airport at 11pm. our check in didn't open till midnight, so had a look in a few shops then waited for check in to open. Being one of the first there proved to be lucky for us, we were the first to check in and were upgraded to business class cause they had overbooked our flight! Well to say we were overjoyed was a bit of an understatement. Being the worst flight of our whole itinery it couldn't of worked out better for us. One thing I will say as we depart Australia is that I don't think I've ever come across such a friendly and happy people. We boarded the plane and got to our seat and all I can say is that, that is the only way to
travel. We had about 4 feet of legroom instead of 33inches!! Got champagne while sitting on the tarmac and our menu's for the flight. Once we took off they brought more champagne and canape's. Once we got started tried to watch a film but it was 4am by then so reclined the seat into more or less a bed and I went to sleep for a few hours, heaven! John laid down but still didn't manage to sleep. It was the best flight of our lives, trouble is spoilt us now for when we go back to economy as usual, haha! We landed in Kuala Lumpur about 8am local time.
