SINGAPORE
Arrived in Singapore 4.45pm which became 8.45pm. Got to hotel ablout 10pm and, wow is all I can say. Checked in, dropped bags in the room and went exploring. The hotel is amazing, had a wander outside, needed to eat and everything except room service was finished. Outside was really busy about 10.45pm. Had a snack then back to our hotel for a night cap, got to bed eventually about 2pm. Set arm for 8.45am had breakfast then went to Orchard Road, shopping. Well, millions of shops and millions of people too! Got a cab back and went on the Singapore Flyer (just like the Millenium Wheel only taller), great views of Singapore. Went to the night safari which was very good. That night went to Clarke Quay for dinner had a nice meal then decided to get a rickshaw (not sure of the spelling) back to our hotel, well, how we got back to the hotel in one piece i don't know, he was cycling out on to busy main roads and laughing, he didn't stop laughing and chatting to us, couldn't understand a word! Had a photo with the loone before getting off and going in our hotel, it was hilarious but also a bit scarey! On Monday went to Universal Studios in the morning, was quite good but small compared with Florida, it was also very hot and manic, full of what looked like locals, rushing here there and everywhere! Then in the afternoon went to Sentosa Island, had a Pina Colada in a beach side pool, quite a nice beach area considering you are in a city. That evening we met with Denys, Kelly ex boss who now works and lives over here. He took us to a French restaurant which was lovely, then on to a night club, (never seen so many 'ladies of the night') that was an eye opener! Wendnesday we went to the Marina Sands Bay Hotel, very impressive but we felt so exhausted, the heat and sightseeing had worn us out, so had a couple of hours round the pool to recoup! Came in sorted the packing out and got ready to go out to 'Raffles' . We went to a bar called 'Altitude' which apparently is the tallest open air bar in the world, unfortunately due to thunderstorms in the area it was shut, which was a bit disapointing, so went to a bar there on the 63rd floor instead, was okay but only had one drink. We went for dinner, then on to 'Raffles'. John had a gin and tonic, and I had my first ever 'Singapore Sling' I really enjoyed it. Got up the next day milled around for a couple of hours then left for Brisbane.
