What a fun stay at Coober Pedy. We did all of the usual tourist activities; underground mine, underground houses and church, learning about opals and noodling for opals. The boys would have spent hours at the noodling fields if we had let them. Now on to Port Augusta as we get closer to home. The temperature has dropped significantly and we are back in jumpers.

We had a fantastic stay at Yulara and Uluru. Great walk around Uluru. We couldn’t climb the rock as it wasn’t open for climbing each time we went to do the climb. They are definitely discouraging tourists from walking on the rock before it closes permenantly in October 2019. We weren’t sure if we wanted to climb the rock before we arrived at Ularu. Loved Kings Canyon. Awesome scenery and great walks. We did a 15 minute helicopter ride over the Canyon that we all loved. We could see Ularu in the distance. We walked the canyon rim and walked up heartbreak hill. Certainly got the heart rate going. If you are coming to Central Australia, definitely recommend a visit to Kings Canyon. A town like Alice......... or a town like Bendigo?? It feels like half of Bendigo are enjoying the school holidays in the Northern Territory with us.
