so...it has been a while and for that i am sorry. Where to start? So much has happened. Of course Dad left, when i put him on the taxi and walked away and i had to straight back to my hotel room. The feeling of being alone finally hit me, afteran hour i pulled myself together and went to a bar for a drink, i decided i needed to man up! i started talking to agirl called Steph, she had just arrived in Bangkok on her own too. Long story shorter...we got on really well and spent the next few days shopping, drinking and recivering from hangovers.
On Saturday, i met up with the people from facebook that would be teaching with me, we went out and had a brilliant night, it was great to meet people that i would then be travelling with. The next day on about 2 hours sleep i met up with the group who also looked as bad as i did (sorry guys but we did look a sorry state), we travelled to AYC where we were to catch the bus! As soon as we got on the bus it was straight to sleep.
Arriving at the conference was daunting, my room mate was not there when i first arrived so i went out for dinner with the friends i had made and a few new ones. When i got back i met Jackie, a lovely american girl. During the next week we got on so well andi hope that we will stay in contact, even though she kept picking up on the very British words i use so often apparently!
The conference was interesting but more of a formality, it was great to meet all the new people and get to make some amazing new friends. On thursday we were told where we were going, they hadnt listened to a word i had said, i had asked for the coast and high school. i got the the north and primary. i am about 6 hours away from all my new friends who it seems got placed together, i must have pissed someone off in the office because this was a million miles away from anything i wanted. But me being me, sacked it up and got on with it.
The journey took a long time but after two days of travelling we got to the town that i would be living in for the next 5 months, we went to many different accomodation but i am to fussy and would not settle for anything that was not perfect. eventually we found the faa sai village and resort. a little out of town but much nicer than anything else i had seen. So i took it, i am staying here with another couple that are working in the same town just different schools. Lucas who is working at my school decided to stay in town.
i met with my school yesterday and for a while i thought it was going to be bad as no one spoke any English but it turns out we were waiting for someone else to come who would be our teacher. We met pee rung and pee joe who work in the english department. they are lovely and took us out for lunch. We then agreed to meet them after they finished work to go for coffee, pee rung had already arranged extra tution for us which is great but is on the weekends. although i have decided that while i am here i can save lots of money and maybe go elsewhere afterwards andof course travel thailand when i finish.
It is hard sometimes to be this far away from my friends and family but then i think about what i would be doing right now if i was at home and think that what i am doing now is a once in a lifetime experience and then i think it will be ok but i do miss you all very much.
