Cairns life.
Life in Cairns is easy. There is great nightlife, good people, sun, sea, not too much sand but you can always hop on a bus to the nearest beach. I have really enjoyed my time here but as it gets closer to being in australia for 3 months it is time to think about moving. When I came here I decided that I wanted to move every 3 months so that I really do get to see alot. I have not saved nearly as much money as I should have done so not travelling too far to the next job in the middle of nowhere. I have enjoyed being in the city but for me to save I need to hibernate. I am not very good at saying no to a party.
For anyone that wants to visit Cairns do it. It is fairly easy to get a job if you actually want one. Wages are not what they are meant to be and you will get less than you would in a big city but the cost of living is much cheaper here. The hostels in Cairns are also good with free food given at most places and one night costing around $15.
Up untill now my blog has really told you in a step by step guide what I have been doing but here I have done nothing but work so there really is nothing to tell you. In Thailand I had every weekend off and made sure that I filled those with something new and exciting, here it is too expensive and saving money is hard work plus the chance of an actual day off is very slim. I have partied a lot and met some brilliant people along the way. In fact it was brought to my attention yesterday that if anyone has a qustion about a drinking establishment in Cairns I would probably be able to tell you the answer. I am not completly sure that is a good thing but I can definatly tell you I know this city well.
I have spent two days on Fitzroy island camping with a great bunch of people. Bonfire on the beach, sleeping next to giant lizards under the stars, snorkelling, sunbathing and playing on a sea trampoline.
I have spent two days in Cape tribulation. Walking, looking for crocodiles, swimming in creeks, being painted by an aboriginal, wooping some butt in a pool competition and seeing huge insects and spiders.
It is a little bit strange after coming here with jade to think that I will be leaving her behind in Cairns but it will not be the last that I see of here, I am sure that we will meet up again. Jade I will miss you.
I had my fortune told the other day and they said that I am very lucky because I will have a good life without too much drama. Well for those that know me I hope that isnt too true. I like the drama. In an effort to create more I am off to live with the cowboys. First to an island, it has been too long.
