Just finished looking at all your pics! Good way of putting off uni work, as Emlyn also said! It's great what you're doing - both in that you're doing something worthwhile for the people in Guyana and also in that you're doing something completely different than the rest of us in the cold rainy UK are! With you gone, and Tom and Graham too, it's making me want to go on travels of my own! But have to stay and finish this damn degree!
Don't have much to report on here - that's how little you are missing! :oP I'm sure theres sport stuff happening here but I fow that and will leave that to the others to tell you about! There was the Remark! awards show two weekends ago - it went well :oD
Christmas is looming up here - that familar feeling of slight panic is returning - presents, cards etc - you're lucky you get a break from it all this year!!
Better go now - take care and keep up the good work :oD Robert x

Hey huni! Finally had the internet installed in the house! I have had a quick look over your postcards and photos. Sounds like you are having a great time out there, doing your bit for the deaf community! Looking good too! Life over here is sooo boring after coming back from traveling with the boys. The weather is one of the coldest in the last decade, and I'm feeling it in my toes! Hoping for a white christmas this year thu, which will probably be nowt compared to what you will be doing, relaxing in the sun, in swimsuit and a xmas hat with a ice cold beer in other hand!! We are off to Ireland this weekend to celebrate Ant and Stephen C's 21st, should be a buzz! Will tell you if Ant ends up tied to a lamp-post! xxxxxx

Hey honey! Great to know that you're having a good time! I'm jealous atm cos you've got lovely weather whereas here, the weather here is crap, its absolutely freezing outside!
I think it's great what you're doing for all those deafies in Guyana, i wish i had the guts to do something like you! I'd only miss my home comforts too much!
And thank goodness you've had your haircut, long hair - hmm, i'm not sure how it looks on you!
Love ya loads xxx

Hey everyone,
I have updated the website and i am so sorry for taking so long to do it as been busy busy with work projects. I am enjoying it very much and it was fun teaching the kids and running the projects for sign language classes and to set up a deaf club.
I wanna to say that now i got the project running for the Deaf Awareness Day which it will be happening next weeked, on Sunday 27th November. We have been working hard on it with Sign Language support group and we are doing great with it. We have got lots of things ready and will be set up to make a good impact to the community who still think Deaf are Dumb. Our slogan are "Deaf not Dumb". We are trying to change the attitude of the community towards to the deaf people. I am looking forward to the day! we are busy to get things in order and to make it good apperance to the public.
We have been asked to interview on TV along with some of the people who are connect to the deaf community e.g. Special Needs Teacher, Interpreters and parents. We are looking fwd to the interview and hope we will make good impression to the community.
I better go now as got lots to do for the week and the Deaf Awareness Day. :)
Miss u all

Hey there,
I have been busy most of this month as didnt have time to get the messages and photos online until now! I am doing good and am enjoying the projects and it is getting on well and i am looking forward to do more work to improve the Deaf Awareness in the public.
I have been to Shanklands which it is wonderful resort and chill out there for the weekend with some of the volunteers. It was really lovely place and we went for a swim, enjoy the socialise in the evening and it was lovely. I will go back there again sometimes soon. U can see it in the photo album to see what i means!! :D
From the person who send me the message, Yes i will be working on Essequibo occasionally to support the disabled people out there. I have really enjoyed the visit there and it does give me lots of insight of Guyana and the values too. I will make most of my stay here and hopefully to help people out there.
Last wkd, Went to Toucan Resort centre where we had workshops on VSO programme and we did Deaf Awareness workshop too but it went ok and will need to polish up in some areas but it is good to do it and we know where we will need to improve on.
I have lost a stone so far and have been exercising a lot and playing football once a week. it was so fun and the game was serious itself as the opposite team is strong and our team always make up of players who turn up!! we did good and i feel it has benefit me a lot to keep going with football skills.
Also the teaching at schools is brilliant and it do help me to exercise and keep fit!
Gotta to go as got lot to do!!
Missing u all

Yooooo darls!!
have just been enjoying reading ur postcards and ur many photo albums in the last two hours!! am putting off my uni work today! the photos look brilliant, and they remind me a little bit of my experience at a deaf school in Ethiopia. but please let someone take piccies of u much more often - i think everyone's interested to see how ur "diet" is progressing every week! it must be seriously hard for ya, after all these beers u have downed in the last few years at uni!!
It has been pretty depressing after coming back from travelling South America with Ant and Bree, and was difficult to adjust back to uni routine, although am enjoying the lie-ins, the relaxation of uni life, and of course the FREEEEEDOM from parents :-) but it is a huge change from last year, after u and the other final years have left. but we re managing it quite well, despite the annoyances we boys get from the girls Jess and Becks in keeping the house in order! :-)
thought u'd be interested, last nite we played our first futsal game, a friendly game, against Doncaster deaf. we only had 5 players (me, ant, ben, william s., and a hearing goalkeeper), while the doncaster had abt 10 players, guess what the score was?? 5-4 to them! we were sooooo exhausted at the end after 4 months of no football and too much beers, but felt proud! i'll update ya abt the League from time to time this year, if u want?
Sheffield Deaf futsal team re going to Brussels for a tournament at end of Oct, which should be wikked! will let ya know the results. although it isnt really sheffy team - me, ant, Brinho, Jon Neal, Eoghan Fee, CJ, Richard B, Sean H. lets hope we bring some silverware back to Sheffy!
ok, enough abt football, dont wanna have the audience fall asleep! So sorry for being a bit late, but, Happy Happy Happy Happy birthday!! i couldnt believe at all that u only had ONE SINGLE bottle of beer???!!! come on, it should be a one off and get urself bashed! cant imagine how u could resist another bottle!
erm, any more news from our side,... nope, not really, u aint missing much at all, it's all the same here, boring old routine! am missing S. America so much, a truly amazing experience, seeing sooo many things and doing so many things! definitely will continue travelling every summer for the next few years of my uni years! i see Tommy talking abt u joining him up next summer for a bit of travels in Argentina and Brazil, YOU GOTTA TAKE IT UP!! (u deserve it, after a whole year working so hard helping the deafies!)
stopping here now, take care, continue to work hard, and make ur family and friends proud!
MWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH love ya!

PS: gotta say again here how much i'm missing ur company out here in sheffy and ur lovely t***.... *sighs* :-)

Hey again,
It gone quiet!! as it have been a busy week for me and today went well as went to the meeting with the boss about my project plans.. she is very impressed with it and did some suggestions to it to make it more impressive!! so now it is time to put it in action and it will go better for the deaf community and more awareness to hearing people.
Dad, I havent forget it is ur birthday and i hope ur day went well and hope u got my card as it is on ur inbox waiting for u to open it! :D Enjoy the nite at meal as katy told me! :D
To everyone, Please keep it going and post more message for me to keep up to date with england!! as missing home!! :(
One more thing, For the letters or parcels or post to me, the address need to change slightly.. so it is: -
Steven Wynne, P/O VSO, 106/7 Carmichael and Lamaha Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown, Guyana.
I just add the P/O VSO so the letters will come to VSO not other buildings as there are 3 in total!!
Anyways Take care
