An amazing personal achievement Steven! Visited the local deaf club in Sabah, Borneo and it is great to know that you & A have set up one for Guyana! You'll be admired for years to come to the locals :) You asked for suggestions, why don't you organise a deaf camp for a night somewhere? It'll be fun for the kids. It is nice to know that you've become fond of the people there and I'm sure they are with you. I know I have with the Malay people. Interesting to absorb their way of life, although it was a culture shock at first. Keep it up and you'll get far in life :) Hugs x

Hi Guys ,great to hear from you and see what you have been up to. Everything here is just the same really. Busy busy busy as usual with work and the kids. I expect the weather is nicer Guyana than it is here in Birmingham. It was about 4 degree c today. Not at all jealous!! Love your post cards and will keep having a look. Vicki (interpreter)

Hey everyone!
I have emailed to many of u, but better to add a message here to reach even more people in the Deaf community! I have the message from VSO YFD who i am currently working with, they asked me to pass the message to many deaf people as possible who might be interested to apply for the volunteering with them. they are looking for 4 new deaf volunteers to be dispatched to third world in new cycle. so if any of u are under 25 and are interested to apply. please go to www.vso.org.uk and go to youth for development section and u will see there is application form and u fill it in. the time is running out very quicky as u need to put ur application through to them by 31st January. I know it is way short noticed but u can have a week to think about it, talk to family etc before u decided. I would say- GO FOR IT - as it is great opportunity for anyone to go abroad and work with people outthere and gain an invaluable experience.
Well the ball is in ur court now!
Cheers

Hey Stevo, sorry i haven't been on this for a while, been busy, went to Mexico for the New Year-had a gr8 time there, but now it's back to reality and exams!! I'll email you properly soon though. What you've done so far is great, something that not many people get to achieve in their lifetime so all credit to you :-)

Hi Ashton (my baby!) and Steve, well done for setting up a Deaf Club and keep up the good work. I am sure that all the World Deaf are proud of you too! You have both been a true inspiration, with massive determination, but at this rate, you won't be wanting to leave. I am sure when it's time to leave in August, you will be missed. Keep up the good work.
Lots of luv, Louisa

Hi Steven! Just looked at your postcards, its amazing what you're doing for the deaf people of Guyana, setting up a deaf club, thats a great achievement! The people there are lucky to have someone like you! As I already told you, I'll try and send some board games but I'd also like to donate money too, so just tell me where to send the money! The best of luck and talk soon! xxx

Hi Steven!!! That's so great news abt Guyana new deaf club!!! I hope it will be successful and i am sure lots of deaf ppls will love it as deaf club will be their 2nd home!!! I have some ideas for games as i remember i played some with Gambian ppls when i visit my sister, i think it's better to play visual games as like you said, most of deaf ppls havent been to schools. So they can play games like Twister, Bingo (show them that we (England) always play Bingo in the deaf clubs!) Plus it's good as learn the numbers, i remmy Gambian ppls love it so much! Wooden brick to build up, forget the name! Lol!!! 4 in a row with yellow and red, remmy? I am happy to post one of these games soon!
Hope it helps? Thanks for your email and i will reply soon, miss you!!! Love Trace x x x
