The hotel -- Las Flores was lovely even had a swimming pool all the rooms were overlooking the pool although the hotel was small. The hotel did not have a restaurant other than for breakfast a guy on reception told us about two restaurants and arranged a taxi for us on both evenings the first was a lovely Italian one but the next night was a bit like a school dining hall !! Ica again a large city now realizing how people in Peru love their parks everywhere had a lovely park with water feature also they are all well maintained and clean. Walked about 6 miles to see the only natural lagoon, -- Huacachina -- in America very beautiful a total oasis in the middle of the desert,it was surrounded by massive sand dunes and people were sand-boarding and having buggy rides. (well used to be natural but the locals take more water than what goes in so it is pumped in now). We spent the day around the lagoon having lunch there then walked back to the hotel
