Lovely place with very friendly people. Again large city everything unbelievably cheap. Spent an interesting day in an unbelievably large shopping mall at least 4 times larger than meadow hall even had theme park on top floor where white knuckle train ride went over shops so you could see it and hear screams !!! Went to look at Batu caves very impressive thankfully so after going up 238 steep steps ! At the side of the caves was an area with some monkeys in cages -- aah poor things , as you walked in there was a large pond with some very large koi fish that you could feed,some small caves that had paintings on the side then tanks with things in outside we sat and watched a show while other monkeys ran around Desrie had a bag of crisps that one monkey ran up and whipped out of her hand !! This was all very naf and commercialised. Outside the cave were loads monkeys lovely to see the babies and funny to watch. Also went to see Twin Towers of Kuala Lumpur --- yes they are called that --- one is a business centre and the other yet another amazing shopping centre with every designer shop you can think of even Harrods it was a shoppers paradise ! ( Dan bought some English tea from Harrods as he had been missing his brew) Desrie insisted in champagne afternoon tea in Harrods expensive but worth it ? We sat outside a restaurant for lunch which overlooked beautiful fountains Also found large department store -- 5 floors -- dedicated to technology Dans idea of wonderful shopping ! And yes he bought the new iPad The hotel was again small, the rooms were set around a small garden with some chairs and tables so we chilled there at the end of each day. Desrie was getting fed up with her hair getting longer, near the hotel we found a place with a few shops and a hairdresser Desrie decided to have her hair cut thinking it had time to grow before we got back ! It was run by two guys who didn't speak English she managed to explain what she wanted,it was rather strange the guy wet it with a spray then massaged shampoo in while still sat in the chair however it was one of the best haircuts she has ever had Dan also had his cut it was around £5 for the two of us !! Desrie also had a manicure and pedicure in the shopping centre again for couple of pounds.
Mainly shopping but lovely to see. As we left the hotel the girls on reception gave us a gift -- a quaint china pot !!
