The morning's first activity was a Yoga class with about 25 women and just 3 men (one of whom quit after 20 minutes) at a huge hall called the Celestial Dome. Anyway, I did the postures as best I could hoping that no one was paying any attention to me. Next we went to breakfast; great food here!
We then headed off to the Cabot Pueblo Museum a couple of miles away. This was a place in which lived a guy by the name of Cabot Yerxa starting in 1913. His parents were highly prominent easterners (yes, that Cabot family) whom he left as a teenager to live in the desert. He was the original discoverer of the hot springs and more or less founded the town of Desert Hot Springs. This is a very interesting site and definitely worth a stop if you're around here.
Next, we drove 15 minutes into Palm Springs, but found the Art Museum to be closed on Wednesdays. Great luck brought us to the Palm Springs Air Museum, which houses an incredible collection of aircraft which were involved in WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and all the other wars we have managed to blunder our way into. After eating lunch directly underneath the wing of a B-17, we headed back to Two Bunch Palms, where we once again relaxed in the mineral pools.
After resting for a short while, we went to the Essence Restaurant and had another delightful dinner, scallops for Rita, lamb chops for me, along with excellent wines. This is our last night here. We head home tomorrow.
