We checked out of the Furnace Creek Inn and got on the road by about 9:30 AM. By about 12:45, we were getting hungry, so we stopped at a most unusual place called Peggy Sue's 50s Diner in a place called Yermo, not far from Barstow. This is an incredible throwback to the 1950s located on the route to Las Vegas and not to be missed.

 




From here, we moved on through fairly heavy traffic, arriving home about 5:00 PM.

This was a great trip to a truly unique place. It's a lot of driving from San Diego to Death Valley but well worth it.
