Last full day of our trip. Off on a food safari tour. We met our guide James at a train station in little India then headed out into the locals areas, had some fantastic Indian food which we ate with our fingers then tried some Indian local street food and drinks, visited a garland market where Yvonne got her first flower bracelet (see attached photo; very pleased). Then a Taoist temple for a lesson in ancestor worship and burning paper offerings before, for multicultural balance, a Hindu temple with a fabulous entrance. Interlude for coffee served in a carrier bag. Then took a train to chinatown for lime juice, noodles and dumplings. All in all it took 3:30 hours and we are stuffed. Excellent way to experience KL. All the time it rained so we skipped through puddles and took cover where we could. We had planned to spend the afternoon by the pool, but because of the rain Yvonne went shopping and David went for a beer. Shopping is a premier league sport here; on the same street as our hotel there are at least 6 full size malls. The Malaysians have fully embraced Christmas so it's an air conned incongruous maze of Santa and snowmen with headscarfs and a millions phone kiosks. Sorry to leave it.
