Asian delights at the food court to start the day. Singaporean Kaja toast for Yvonne and a roast duck, noodles and wonton soup feast for David.
3 times we've been to KL and we have finally made it up the Menara tower. The observation deck is 250m up from an already steep climb and had panoramic views of the whole city including the impending rain. Ignored it as we had very little time here and plenty to see. Walking tour of Little India and the old colonial buildings from when 'the British showed these chaps how to run a country' including a drink in a bar that hasn't been refurbished since 1925. Bar even had a poster on what to do if your servant has malaria. KL even then had a more risk averse view on health and safety than Thailand. We have encountered several instructional warnings of how to avoid hitting your head on a ceiling no one could reach, how to not fall off the toilet and being careful of the dangerous electricity in Christmas lights. See photos if you don't believe us.
Swam in the rain in the excellent hotel pool and then Opium - the restaurant not the drug. Food was excellent but the main entertainment was David's face when they served his beer in a saucer. Returned to the bar we were in last night. In a city renowned for good food and expensive beer we drank too much and staggered back to the hotel with a pot noodle and crisps. David is hoping for a repeat performance.
